Children's Programs

SAFETY, FUN, AND LEARNING!

Improve skiing or snowboarding skills in programs
run by people who know and care about kids.

THEY'RE IN GOOD HANDS

Children’s Programs are headquartered here at Spruce Peak where the broad and gentle runs make a great environment for learning. Advanced skiers and riders venture farther afield to explore terrain that has given Stowe it’s reputation as the best in the East.

All lessons are designed to be age appropriate to ensure a safe, fun and positive outdoor experience. Our instructors are specifically trained to provide developmentally appropriate activities for each ability and age.

It’s easy to relax and enjoy your time at Stowe when you know they’re in good hands!

Our Children’s Reservations staff are here to help you with your questions and find which program is right for your child. Please call us at 800-253-4SKI.

Shannon Benner, our Children's Programs Manager has been working with youth in experiential education programs for more than 15 years.

"Yeats once said that Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. Our job, as educators is to provide both an emotionally and physically safe and fun environment where you have the privilege of being the spark that lights that fire for skiing, riding, and experiencing the outdoors."

Marsha Curtis, our Training Manager is an Advanced Children's Educator certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

"I love working with kids. They hear things, see things, and think about things, we as adults have long ago learned how to tune out. They will tug at your arm and show you one particular snowflake out of the hundred that rest on the seat cushion of a chair, or point out a tree in the woods that looks like Big Bird. Skiing and riding are fantastic because they are multi-generational sports. If children have great ski/ride experiences when they are young, most likely it will be something they will continue to enjoy the rest of their lives."

Jim Doykos, the On Hill Children's Supervisor is also accredited with the Professional Ski Instructors of America. His philosophy in working with young people is to have fun, while focusing on building confidence. Keep your eyes peeled for Jim on the mountain!!

"I love teaching skills that extend beyond wintersports and build self-esteem."

***If your taking a lesson or visiting the Adventure Center over the holidays please be 30 minutes early due to the high volume of traffic these areas will be receiving, we hope your experience is an enjoyable one!
